2022 was another big year for Breakthrough, with our first fully in-person summer in three years, new program innovations, new and expanded partnerships, and our new national CEO, Vince Marigna! Across 24 affiliates, we provided academic and social-emotional support to over 6,000 students and provided hands-on classroom experience for nearly 900 Teaching Fellows this summer.
This year, we also focused on creating innovative programs across our network. With the support of The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, ECMC Foundation, New York Life Foundation and All Points North Foundation, we introduced math tutoring pilots, college success programming, school-year programming and social-emotional learning growth across the Collaborative.
In an effort to help advance our education equity mission, we have expanded our impact by joining national partnerships across the country. Here are a few of the new initiatives from the past year:
- White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence and Economic Opportunity through Historically Black Colleges & Universities 2022 conference in Washington DC
- National Summer Learning Association 2022 Conference in Washington, DC
- National Partnership for Student Success, Supporting Champion
- Grantmakers for Education 2022 Conference in Austin, TX
